NOTICE to WILDFIRE EVACUEES:
If you have been evacuated from your home due to wildfires and are looking for information about services available for evacuees, please contact the Emergency Support Services (ESS) team nearest you. You will find their contact info at the bottom of this article.
Evacuees are also encouraged to register with the Red Cross at 1-800-863-6582 to access additional financial assistance.
This is the central information hub for Emergency Support Services (ESS) in the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine (RDKS).
ESS volunteers provide short-term (up to 72 hours) assistance to evacuees affected by an emergency or natural disaster such as fire, flood, landslide or earthquake. This includes access to basic needs such as food, clothing, lodging and other specialized services. The goal of ESS is to help people re-establish themselves as quickly as possible after a disaster.
