This is the central information hub for Emergency Support Services (ESS) in the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine (RDKS).

ESS volunteers provide short-term (up to 72 hours) assistance to evacuees affected by an emergency or natural disaster such as fire, flood, landslide or earthquake. This includes access to basic needs such as food, clothing, lodging and other specialized services. The goal of ESS is to help people re-establish themselves as quickly as possible after a disaster.

ESS RDKS is currently comprised of FOUR community teams:

  • Hazeltons ESS – District of New Hazelton, Village of Hazelton and surrounding areas
  • Kitimat ESS – District of Kitimat and surrounding areas
  • Skeena Valley ESS – City of Terrace, Thornhill and surrounding areas
  • Stikine Region ESS – Dease Lake and surrounding areas

The ESS RDKS Program provides support, training and resources.  We welcome all communities, First Nations and individuals to get involved.

This Volunteer Portal Empowers Registered ESS Responders to:
