Zoo Naturalist Volunteer (18+)
Zoo Naturalists work with the public to raise funds for conservation and to educate guests about the zoo, our habitats, and our conservation mission. Depending on the season, Zoo Naturalists may host education discovery stations; present on animal ambassadors; and manage the giraffe feeding encounter, sloth bear feeding encounter, Zoo Farm, or Butterflies in Bloom experience.
Responsibilities: Zoo Naturalists collect required fees at the animal encounters. They provide guest education as it pertains to the habitats that are around or the encounters that are being conducted. They possess excellent customer service skills. They inspire guests to get involved in our mission of conservation. They ensure the safety of all animal ambassadors and the animals involved in public animal encounters. They operate the zoo-wide radio.
