Supporting international students. Building global friendships. Developing community.

What is Global Mates?

The Global Mates (GM) Program sits within International Student Support, and is a student-led program designed to help international students feel welcomed, connected, and confident throughout their journey at Adelaide University.

Rather than a formal one-on-one mentoring system, Global Mates is all about creating a sense of community. Current domestic and international students (the 'GMs') volunteer their time to help international students settle in, make new friends, and feel part of university life.

Whether it’s through casual catch ups, regular events, outings, campus activities, or social chats, GMs provide friendly guidance, cultural insights, and a supportive peer network.
