Volunteer Homework Help Tutor — Grades K–12

Help students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and succeed in school! Our library is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to provide homework help and academic support to students in grades K–12.

How You Will Make a Difference

Your time and knowledge can make a meaningful impact on a student’s learning journey. By offering one-on-one or small-group support, you’ll help students better understand challenging subjects, develop effective study habits, and feel more confident tackling their schoolwork.

Volunteers Are Needed To

• Provide homework help and tutoring for students in grades K–12
• Explain concepts, answer questions, and encourage problem-solving
• Create a positive, patient, and welcoming learning environment
• Encourage students to become more independent and confident learners

Commitment/Schedule

Schedule is intended to be every Friday from 3:30pm-5:30pm. However, schedule can be flexible and dependent on the availability of the volunteer. 

Prospective volunteers should:

• Must be 16 years or older.
• Complete a fingerprint background check, at no cost to you.
• Have strong oral communication skills. English skills required, bilingual in Spanish or Vietnamese a plus.
• Be willing to work with a variety of students of different grades and learning stages.
• Be patient and have good customer service skills.
