Programmatic - ELL Instructor
Facilitate an English Language Learner Class at Hillview branch library. The goal of the ELL Class is to create an opportunity for “zero to very beginner-level" English language learners to learn English in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Boost confidence and English language competence in program participants
Volunteers are needed to:

Facilitate a safe space for English language learners to build community and improve their English skills
- Follow provided curriculum and adapt it to learners' needs

Share information about library services, programs, and use of resources

Commitment/Schedule
- Looking for Saturday mornings or Sunday- any time

At least one hour-long class session plus preparation time per week for a minimum of six months.
A fingerprint background check, at no cost to you, is required.
Volunteers will receive training and support to ensure they are well-prepared for their role.
Prospective volunteers should:
Be 18 years or older

Have experience in working with non-English-speaking adults

Have knowledge and experience in the field of English language learning or a related discipline

Have strong oral communication skills

Be dependable, patient, and flexible
Language Skills

Advanced fluency in English is required.

Proficiency in either Spanish or Vietnamese is highly desired but not required

The most commonly spoken languages (other than English) by Hillview Library patrons are Spanish and Vietnamese
Qualifications Required
