Community Networking Volunteer

Increase MHC’s connectedness within Alberta’s mental health landscape by building relationships.

Under the guidance of the Community Networking Team Lead(s), Community Networking volunteers initiate and maintain connections with individuals and organizations offering mental health support. They will maintain a reliable professionalism and personability in all communications and apply their strong understanding of MHC goals and services to provide information. They will consistently increase their awareness of Albertan mental health services in order to initiate new connections, and may interact with individuals via email, phone calls, virtual meetings, and in-person events. 

Please note: Access to transit or a vehicle is an asset.

Time Commitment:

  • 2-4 hours a week (with the opportunity to increase volunteer hours as agreed upon by the volunteer and MHC)

  • Minimum 6 month volunteer commitment

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Community Networking Team to build relationships with individuals and organizations in Alberta’s mental health landscape.

  • Initiate and maintain connections with professionals to increase awareness of MHC.
  • Help MHC integrate successfully with existing services.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be aged 18+
  • Must have access to a computer, high-speed internet, and telephone
