Food Pantry Warehouse

As a volunteer in the warehouse, your role will encompass various duties aimed at maintaining the organization and cleanliness of CCA's food pantry. Your tasks may include:

  1. Organizing and Restocking: You will assist in arranging and restocking freezers, refrigerators, and shelves in the food pantry, ensuring items are easily accessible for clients.

  2. Sorting Goods: You will help sort canned goods or packaged items, ensuring they are categorized correctly for efficient inventory management.

  3. Pricing Non-Food Items: Before placing non-food items on the shelves, you will accurately price them, ensuring clear pricing for clients.

  4. Removing Excess and Expired Items: You will identify excess items on the pantry shelves and return them to the warehouse. Expired or severely dented canned goods will be removed and discarded to maintain quality and safety.

  5. Restocking Returned Items: Any items returned at the checkout counter will be organized and placed back on the appropriate shelves.

  6. Organizing Shopping Carts: You will arrange shopping carts in an orderly manner, ensuring they are readily available for clients.

  7. Repackaging Small Items: As necessary, you may assist in repackaging small items to optimize space or improve presentation.

  8. Cleaning: Regular cleaning tasks such as cleaning refrigerators, freezers, shelves, fixtures, cashier/checkout counters, sweeping, mopping, and discarding trash will be performed to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.

  9. Managing Empty Boxes: Empty boxes will be broken down and re-stacked for efficient storage or prepared for recycling to keep the warehouse area organized.

Your dedication to these duties will contribute to a well-organized and welcoming environment for clients accessing the food pantry. Your efforts will help ensure that resources are readily available and that clients can navigate the space comfortably.
