If you're a passionate trail user who enjoys Redlands' stunning coastal conservation areas, Trailcare could be your perfect volunteer fit! It's a great opportunity to protect and improve the very trails you love, while connecting with like-minded people.
What is Trailcare?
Trailcare is a Redland City Council initiative that partners with volunteers to maintain and enhance trail networks. The program focuses on:
- Trail maintenance and restoration
- Erosion control
- Weed management
- Promoting sustainable trail use
Volunteers gain hands on experience in practical land care and community engagement.
Where does Trailcare operate?
Trailcare currently prioritises three key conservation areas:
- Scribbly Gum Conservation Area
- Bayview Conservation Area
- Eastern Escarpment Conservation Area
These areas are regularly used by walkers, runners, mountain bikers, and horse riders and your help keeps them safe, accessible, and beautiful.

What’s involved?
Trailcare volunteers typically give a few hours each month as part of a working group. Activities may include:
- Raking and clearing trails
- Vegetation management
- Restoring trail surfaces
- Clearing debris
You’ll need a reasonable level of fitness and will receive training on using any equipment. All volunteers are covered under Council’s Volunteer Insurance Scheme.

Getting involved is simple:
