Internships - Marketing and Branding Intern (hybrid)

Reports to: Marketing Coordinator

Hours per Week: up to 15 hours per week

Compensation: Upon completion of the internships, interns will receive a certificate of completion and a letter of recommendation (upon request). If this internship is for academic credits, please provide us with a university point of contact so that we can ensure you receive your credits. 

 

Summary: Dallas Hope Charities is seeking an innovative, think-outside-the-box creative that wants to elevate our visuals while maintaining/improving our current brand standards. You will have administrative duties in developing and implementing marketing strategies.

As a marketing & branding intern, you will collaborate with our marketing and branding coordinator in all stages of marketing development. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our marketing & branding department.

This internship will help you acquire work experience within the non-profit field. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in marketing and branding, and should be prepared to enter any fast paced work environment.

By the end of this internship, we hope that you will walk away with: a better understanding of the inner workings of a nonprofit; connections to community leaders in nonprofit and other industries relevant to our work; increased ability to produce marketing and branding content in alignment with company standards; marketing and graphic design skills that can be applied to a variety of positions; marketing content items that can be added to your professional portfolio; a firm grasp of issues impacting low income and LGBTQ communities and community led solutions to these issues; improved video editing and content creation skills; an improved fluency in editing software; and a variety of other skills and experiences that can be carried to future opportunities. 

Duties and Responsibilities (Based on Experience, Strengths, & Interests):

  • Marketing Calendar Planning

  • Social Content Analysis, Development, & Community Engagement

  • Email Marketing Development

  • Website Updates

Qualifications (MUSTS):

  • LGBT Community Affirming

  • Interest in gaining experience in Design, Creative, and/or Marketing 

  • Ability to maintain branding standards.

  • Strong organization skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to take constructive feedback and apply it to the projects requested.

Qualifications (Bonus - All Skill Levels are Welcome!):

  • Experience with Adobe CC, Google Suite, Canva, Wordpress, and/or Elementor.

  • Photography/Videography Experience 

  • Video Production Experience

  • Video Content Development Experience
