Black Tie Dinner - 2024 Black Tie Dinner Weekend

Since its inception in 1982, Black Tie Dinner has been the largest fundraising dinner for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community in the nation. Each year, Black Tie Dinner selects up to 20 North Texas beneficiaries to receive dinner proceeds as well as the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the Dinner's national beneficiary. To date, Black Tie Dinner has distributed over $25 million.

DO…

  • Read through the descriptions thoroughly including any lifting, standing, walking or technical requirements. We want to make sure everyone stays safe and can perform the task.
  • Ensure that you register directly on the link once provided. Black Tie Dinner needs your information to ensure you receive all the shift info and reminders.
  • After registering with the link provided, please email a copy of your confirmation email from Black Tie Dinner to Ciera, your DHC volunteer lead at coates@dallashopecharities.orgThis will help us track that we are meeting the above goals and get your hours registered in the DHC Hope Dealer Volunteer Portal.

DO NOT…

  • DO NOT HOLD SHIFTS. Only register for a shift you can 100% commit to assisting. There is no way to edit a shift after it has been filled. The shift will be deleted and then it becomes available to everyone again.

Other FYIs

  • All volunteers must stay for their entire shift unless BTD committee rep has released them to go early. If BTD releases or cancels your shift, you will get credit for the full shift.
  • You will only get credit for the allotted hours of the scheduled shift unless specifically asked by a BTD committee rep to come in early or stay over. That will be rare and, on a case-by-case basis.
  • Once submitted, the volunteer will receive a confirmation email with shift information, including parking, as well as a calendar appointment. Don't forget to email a copy of this confirmation to coates@dallashopecharities.org to help us track our goals and your committed volunteer hours in the DHC system.
  • Any remaining open shifts will become available for our general volunteers on [ date pending ].
  • If a volunteer needs to cancel, they need to email corela@blacktie.org and copy your organization’s liaison coates@dallashopecharities.org.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to seeing you all sign up to help out at the biggest FUNdraiser of the year.
