Date: Friday, March 21, 2025
Volunteer Check-In 8:30 AM
Location: Hope Center, East Dallas (Exact address will be provided after confirmation for safety and privacy)

Tour + Set-Up Crew

Time: 9:00 AM–10:00 AM
Summary: Start your day with a volunteer house tour before assisting staff with set-up for the Flip the Switch ceremony. Volunteers will help prep the space and support early guests.
Requirements: Comfortable with light lifting and movement. Friendly and flexible demeanor.

Shift 2: Tour Guides + Guest Support

Time: 10:00 AM–11:00 AM
Summary: Facilitate small group house tours and support guests during remarks from Green Mountain Energy Sun Club, DHC, and city leaders. Talking points will be provided.
Requirements: Comfortable speaking to small groups, walking, and standing for an extended period.

Shift 3: Community Clean-Up Crew

Time: Volunteer Check-In 10:45 AM, Shift 11:00 AM–12:30 PM
Summary: Join our community cleanup effort by clearing litter from the street in front of the house and the alley behind it. Supplies will be provided.
Requirements: Able to walk, bend, and work outdoors for an extended time.

Dress Code: Comfortable clothing, closed-toed shoes, and your blue DHC t-shirt (provided if needed).

Important:

  • All volunteers are required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to the event in order to participate.

  • Registering does not guarantee participation. Please contact the Volunteer Lead after registering to confirm your role and receive the NDA and final details.

Qualifications Required

  • Address Your Unconscious Biases Must be Completed
  • Hope Dealer Handbook Must be I have read and ACCEPT all terms & condition within the Hope Dealer Handbook.
  • Introduction to Unconscious Bias Must be Completed
  • LGBTQ in the Workplace: Gender Identity vs. Sexual Orientation Must be Completed
  • Non-disclosure Agreement Must be Signed
  • Respect Ethnic & Racial Differences Must be Completed
