Volunteer Title: Cincinnati Heritage Programs Docent
Purpose: To inspire people to learn and appreciate the region’s history through tours and activities at Union Terminal and greater Cincinnati.
Background:
Cincinnati Heritage Programs (CHP) was founded in 1983 by the Cincinnati Historical Society to prepare tours for Cincinnati’s Bicentennial Celebration and to teach the public about the history of Cincinnati. CHP moved into Union Terminal when it became Cincinnati Museum Center in 1991. CHP consists of self-motivated and highly dedicated volunteers who act as ambassadors of Cincinnati history. The fellowship and knowledge shared by all in the association is synergistic and highly rewarding, as is the opportunity to meet event attendees, directors and volunteers of other historic and cultural institutions. CHP Docents are proud to be a part of CMC and through CHP events, meets and greets thousands of people per year.
