American Cancer Society - Road to Recovery Volunteers
The American Cancer Society has a free transportation program for people with cancer called Road to Recovery. Trained, volunteer drivers provide free trips for people with cancer to and from their cancer related medical appointments using their own personal vehicle. Drivers set their own availability. In order to become a volunteer driver, individuals must have proof of auto insurance, a valid driver's license, a clear D.M.V. criminal background check, and complete a short training class at a location convenient for them.
