City of Johnstown, PA

Every year the Garden Club of Johnstown has about 15 beautification projects some of which include, The Point overlooking the Stone Bridge, Sandyvale Cemetery, Roxbury Bandshell, the Flood Museum, Festival Park, the small parklet at the bottom of the incline, and the flowering baskets on the 3 of the bridges downtown, and several others. We have always done our own maintenance but would like to get the public more involved. Sandyvale is one of the areas that we could use help with, and a big one would be to have someone to water the bridge baskets. For the watering of these it would require someone with a truck. We have a 55 gal drum & a pump and would be an activity that would have to be done at LEAST 3 X a wk. Gardening tools needed for weeding and planting and perhaps someone to adopt one of our sites for regular watering during dry periods when water has to be taken to the sites. Looking for someone who likes to play in the dirt and likes gardening. We would want to meet with the volunteers to discuss our projects and to set up schedules.
