COVID 19 Update
In what is a pretty unsettling situation for the world, we at the Birmingham Christmas Shelter hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe.
Our Board of Trustees are continuing to meet monthly (via Zoom) discussing the most up to date Covid 19 situation and what this means for the Shelter 2020. As a reminder, the government advice advises on social distancing measures we should all be taking to reduce social interaction between people in order to reduce the transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19).
We are currently working through scenarios which range from opening as normal and running our usual service to deferring shelter week to 2021. If we did defer we would look to support other Birmingham agencies through donations. At this stage no one can call how things will turn out but as these plans start to develop we will share updates with you, our brilliant volunteers. Be confident though that the safety of our volunteers and guests is paramount and we will not be going against any government advice.
Our aim is to offer food, warmth, shelter and companionship to homeless and lonely people in the Birmingham area, over the Christmas period.
Our doors are open to all, irrespective of gender, colour, race, religion or sexual orientation.
