Program Assistant Volunteer – Toddler Time

The Grand Prairie Library is seeking a friendly and dependable volunteer to assist with our weekly Toddler Time program at the Main Library. This program serves toddlers and caregivers through stories, songs, movement activities, and early literacy fun in a welcoming environment.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Assist staff during Toddler Time programs
• Help prepare and organize program materials and supplies
• Greet families and help create a welcoming atmosphere
• Support crowd flow and assist with simple program tasks
• Help with setup and cleanup before and after programs
• Assist with crafts or interactive activities as needed
• Provide occasional bilingual support (Spanish/English) when possible

Preferred Qualifications

• Enjoys working with children and families
• Friendly, patient, and dependable
• Comfortable working in a group setting
• Able to follow staff direction and assist as needed
• Spanish-speaking or bilingual volunteers are encouraged to apply
• Experience with children, education, healthcare, or community programs is a plus

Schedule

Toddler Time takes place Wednesdays at 11:00 AM at the Main Library (901 Conover Dr.). Volunteer opportunities may be weekly, biweekly, or for special programs depending on availability and library needs.

Students pursuing careers in education, child development, healthcare, pediatrics, speech therapy, social work, or related fields who are looking to gain experience working with young children and families in a community setting.
