Activation - TRAIT Activation for Will County Response
The town of Crete, IL has had a series of unfortunate events. The town has experienced a triple homicide, large house fire with four deaths (3 of them children), and a shooting at a large gathering. Crete is setting up space for residents to come and receive counseling if they need it.
Will County Health Department has requested LICENSED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH volunteers to assist.
Location: TBD in Crete, IL - please note that this is approximately 1.5 hours from Lake County
Requirements:
- Licensed behavioral health professional (social worker, counselor, psychologist)
- Completed MRC Level 1 training in addition to Psychological First Aid (NCTSN version or comparable)
More details will be provided to registered volunteers as information is received. Please note that the request has gone out to all neighboring counties, so the number of needed volunteers is fluid. As with all responses, your time, flexibly and patience is greatly appreciated.
Volunteer registration will close on Thursday morning.
