Yookamurra Caretakers June/July 2026

Project Title:
Yookamurra Caretakers 2026 (22 June – 26 July2026)
Project description:
We’re looking for enthusiastic, practical people (or pairs!) to step into the role of caretaker at Yookamurra Sanctuary. This is a unique opportunity to live and work in a remote conservation setting, contributing directly to the upkeep and protection of a nationally significant wildlife sanctuary.
Days are active and rewarding. You’ll be outdoors, working with your hands, and helping maintain the infrastructure that keeps feral predators out and native species safe. Evenings? Think big skies, quiet bushland, and the kind of peace you can’t find in town.
This role will especially suit people with a trade or practical background, or anyone who enjoys physical work, problem-solving, and being self-sufficient in a remote environment.
Volunteer tasks:
Volunteers will carry out tasks at the direction of Sanctuary Staff to assist with essential property maintenance tasks, including:
-
Fence checks of the predator-proof fence
