Mt Gibson - Mt Gibson Campground Hosts 2026
The team at Mt Gibson Wildlife Sanctuary are seeking volunteers to assist as Campground Hosts for our Quartz Ridge Campground in 2026.

Tasks will include
- Checking in guests and providing information about the campsite
- Tidying of campground and amenities
- Assisting the sanctuary team with fence checks and other Operational Tasks
We are looking for volunteers who ideally can stay for one-month periods, arriving at the start and leaving at the end of the month. Basic accommodation with kitchen and bathroom facilities is provided, however, due to the length of stay, you may prefer to have a caravan or camper for sleeping. This opportunity would particularly suit a couple or two friends who enjoy remote living, nature, and working together in a small team environment.
Our camp season runs from 1st May until 30th September 2026.
The Campground Host role is part of the broader work of the Operations Team, who look after everything from infrastructure and maintenance to feral animal control, the predator proof fence, weed management and fire operations. As a camp host volunteer, you’ll work closely alongside the Operations Team, gaining insight into what it takes to manage a large, remote wildlife sanctuary
If you are interested in this role please email olivia.carroll@australianwildlife.org for more information.
Recruitment Process- AWC Project Coordinators will assess volunteers’ profiles upon application (signup). Suitable candidates that meet project requirements will be contacted directly for a follow up discussion before final decisions are made. Once successful candidates have been offered a position volunteers will be assigned to the project and should expect to receive all relevant onboarding documentation soon after and before deployment. Please ensure your MyImpact profile is complete with contact details and all supporting information to provide you with the best opportunity for a successful placement.
Please Note: Due to the high level of interest these roles attract we regret that we are not able to contact unsuccessful applicants
