Lifeline South Coast's Big Book Fairs are our major fundraiser events.
Our Book Fairs would not be possible without our dedicated team of volunteers. The team is made up of long term volunteers, Book Sorting volunteers, new volunteers and corporate volunteers. Also part of the team are our volunteer vehicle drivers and assistants who help with the Book Fair logistics in the weeks leading up to and after Book Fair.
Our volunteers come from different backgrounds and experiences. During set up we deliver, unpack and display 80,000+ books ready for customers. This takes us 3 days with a new team each day. As a Book Fair volunteer the different roles during our trading days all involve customer service. You can choose to help receive and pack books donated by customers, greet customers as they arrive, tidy and restock tables of books, assist customers to navigate the stadium, add up customer purchases, or process sales at the register. There is something for everyone!
We start the setup on Tuesday March 14 and finish Thursday March 16 in the afternoon ready for our VIP opening night on Thursday at 5pm. We are open again from Friday March 17 through to Sunday March 19 and then packup on Monday March 20.
To volunteer at the March Big Book Fair go to the top right of this page 'I would like to volunteer' and register with us now.
The Book Fair events contribute to fundraising for Lifeline South Coast's services in the Illawarra and South Coast, including 13 11 14.
