Museum Host


Volunteers will be stationed primarily in the main lobby and surrounding areas.


The Museum Host position is vital in welcoming our visitors and handling larger group visits.  


  • assisting with managing the lines/crowds/groups and includes coordinating school groups with their assigned storage bins
  • directing visitors
  • managing IMAX patrons who need to purchase tickets
  • seasonal duties as required



You are comfortable with crowds and using technology methods such as iPads to deliver information. You have a strong visitor-service focus and are able to approach visitors with confidence.


A blue shirt uniform with gold name tag will be provided. You should dress in a clean and tidy manner that reflects the museum’s guidelines with your nametag visible.

Museum hosts will work with Visitor Experience Designers during the peak summer season. Both positions support and share some of the same duties.

Suitability of assignment is subject to ongoing evaluation.

Time Commitment:

The shift schedule is approximately 3 hours per week plus biannual updating meetings.
