Join Our Volunteer Team!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Explore our available volunteer opportunities and take the first step by submitting an volunteer application. Please note we are located in the city of Sonoma.

  • If you are only interested in taking a Dog out for the day while visiting Sonoma, (or doing only that occasionally if local, rather than regularly volunteering with our dogs) please see details about our Doggy Day Out Program and application here: https://www.petslifeline.org/doggydayout
  •  If under age 13:  A parent/adult guardian volunteer must accompany the child during training and when volunteering to supervise. The adult should complete a Volunteer Application in their own name, as well as completing a separate Volunteer Application for the child in their name, with their information.
  • Inquiring about School Community Service Credit? If Age 13+: We ask for commitment to a minimum of 20 hours total volunteering, and a weekly shift while completing that. The following activities most needed by the shelter will be offered for credited hours after completing training:  Shelter Assistant, Pet Food Pantry, Kennel Cleaning, and Events help such as setup/cleanup. Must be available during daytime hours the shelter is open which includes weekends.

Once your application is submitted, you’ll receive a welcome email with important details and will be invited to attend a new volunteer orientation. We can’t wait to meet you and welcome you to our volunteer team!
