Emergency Disaster Services

In this position the Volunteer provides assistance to The Salvation Army’s role in disaster response, as needed, within its operating area or as needed outside the local area, depending on the volunteer’s availability and willingness to serve in such areas. The volunteer may be subjected to high levels of stress in emergency situations. Will be required to work efficiently under pressure.

Qualification are: 1. Must be able to follow directions. 2. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. 3. If applicable to the position - anyone working with or having access to minors or vulnerable adults: Must complete the Safe from Harm course. 4. Must pass the background checks. 5. Willing to support the mission of The Salvation Army. 6. Must be able to adhere to the principals of confidentiality when working with survivors. 7. Must be willing to work outdoors and in temporary facilities. 8. Willing to work under extreme conditions; including, but not limited to, noise, dust, dirt, smoke, power outages, and extreme weather conditions. 9. Willing to take required training to meet the qualifications set by The Salvation Army for disaster responders.
