🧍Face to face - 🏢Help us design the new main entrance: April family workshop

Main Entrance Redesign Workshop
We are redesigning the main entrance at Great Ormond Street Hospital to make it bigger, better, and more welcoming for families.
Over the past few years, families have told us how they would like to feel when they first arrive at GOSH and what they need from the space. We’ve shared this feedback with a team of designers, who have created some early ideas for the new entrance. We’d now like to share these ideas with families and get your feedback, so we can keep improving the designs together over the next year.
What will happen in the workshop?
You’ll meet the architects from BDP (Building Design Partnership) and a new creative team called Acrylicize, who design artwork and spaces using storytelling.
Following our January Science Museum workshop, the teams will share the next stage of the main entrance designs. Patients and families will have the chance to give their views and help shape what happens next.
This will be the final workshop focused on the overall design, before we move on to details such as colours, artwork and sound in later sessions this year.
The session will be fun, interactive, and a real opportunity to influence how the new main entrance will look and feel.
Who can take part?
This workshop is open to:
- Patients
- Siblings
- Parents and carers
We’d love to hear from families with a wide range of needs and experiences, including families with learning disabilities or who are autistic.
We are especially keen to hear from families who have previously taken part in:
- Children’s Cancer Centre Parents Group
- Main Entrance Science Museum workshop (January)
- London Zoo Main Entrance workshop
If you haven’t taken part before, you are very welcome to sign up. If the workshop becomes full, we will prioritise people who attended the previous groups or workshops listed above.
Please note:
- Children under 16 must attend with a parent or carer
- Everyone attending must sign up, including parents and carers
