Admin Assistant = Brantford

Office Assistant 


The Office Assistant position provides administrative support to Habitat for humanity Heartland Ontario London, and Brantford office. This role provides exceptional customer service and data management which is vital to the success of our organization.

This Volunteer position tasks may involve the following: 

  • Help with general office administration as required (faxing, filing, etc.)
  • Answer phone; take and relay messages 
  • Data entry- Assist with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end filing and mailing 
  • Research Projects
  • Marketing Support
  • Organizational jobs
  • Work in collaboration with other office volunteers
  • Greet and direct persons entering the organization 
  • Other duties as required

Time Commitment: 

  • 4 hours/week (Office hours: Mon-Fri 9-4) - Morning & Afternoons available (flexible) Minimum: 1 year commitment

Qualifications / Experience Necessary:

  • Practiced knowledge in Google based applications/email, and Microsoft office applications (word/ excel). 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with good command of the English language
  • High attention to detail when reviewing documents
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Reliable and able to work well under minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to process extensive amount of information
  • 16 years and older
  • Willingness to work as part of a team of other volunteers but able to work independently and meet deadlines

Training provided:

  • An orientation session is required before your first volunteer shift
  • Health and Safety policy and video
  • Volunteer Manual

Screening:

  • Interview and two references are required as part of the screening process
