ADHB Starship- School Assistant Volunteers
School Assistant Volunteers assist the qualified teachers in the on site hospital school, providing one-on-one help to children in the classroom.
Suitably trained and vetted volunteers occasionally may visit children in their rooms.
School volunteers need to:
- have had recent experience with children
- be flexible and self starters
- be patient, tactful and non judgemental
- be able to commit time on a regular and ongoing basis
- be willing to maintain the cleanliness of their equipment as required.
Recent experience in the classroom may be an advantage but is not essential.
