Louis A. Stelzer County Park - Green Friday Event: Rebuilding the Observation Deck

Join us for our Green Friday Event at Louis A. Stelzer County Park, where we will be helping to rebuild the observation deck on their Wooten Loop Trail. This is an exciting beautification project to help visitors take in the views surrounding the park and give back during a county-wide effort to celebrate all-things-parks.

Where:

Louis A. Stelzer Park 11470 Wildcat Canyon Road, Lakeside, CA 92040

Meet at the Ranger Station next to the parking lot.

Shift:

9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.

Help during our Green Friday Event by: 

  • Hiking scenic trails while carrying reclaimed wood down from the old observation deck and transporting new wood up the trail to support the rebuild project
  • Creating water bars with old salvageable wood, helping with park conservation efforts
  • Potential to: weed, and spread mulch as needed

Who Can Volunteer: 

  • All ages (under 18 with a parent or guardian)
  • Friendly and enjoys working outdoors
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs

Important Information:

Volunteer Parking is in the parking lot for Louis A. Stelzer County Park.  

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, layered clothes, and protection from the sun. Bring water and be ready to make an impact!
