Welcome to the Alfred Health Volunteer Program
There are exciting opportunities for those wishing to become involved in volunteering with The Alfred and Caulfield Hospitals.
Please note: We only accept applications from interested people aged 18 years or above.
The Alfred
Volunteers perform a variety of roles including concierge duties, emergency department support, intensive care unit roles, hand and foot massages to patients and many other volunteer roles as the need arises.
We recognise that our volunteers complement paid staff to provide excellent quality of care for our patients, their families, visitors and the community within the hospital.
Caulfield Hospital
Volunteers can friendly visiting in the wards and our rehabilitation units, especially the new Acquired Brain Injury unit, group activities, hydrotherapy and community activities.
Next Steps
Becoming an Alfred Health Volunteer commences with an orientation session, these are scheduled throughout the year. If you wish to receive notification of our sessions please submit your expression of interest.
Potential volunteers are required to undertake a police check and to attend 1 full day of training.
On-going training and support are provided to all successful applicants.
