Trusted to deliver outstanding care
Welcome to the Alfred Health Volunteer Program
There are exciting opportunities for those wishing to become involved in volunteering with The Alfred and Caulfield Hospitals.
Please note: We only accept applications from interested people aged 18 years or above.
At The Alfred volunteers perform a variety of roles including concierge duties, emergency department support, intensive care unit roles, hand and foot massages to patients and many other volunteer roles as the need arises.
We recognise that our volunteers complement paid staff to provide excellent quality of care for our patients, their families, visitors and the community within the hospital.
Caulfield Hospital has openings that include friendly visiting in the wards and our rehabilitation units, especially the new Acquired Brain Injury unit, group activities, hydrotherapy and community activities.
Becoming an Alfred Health Volunteer commences with an information session, these are scheduled throughout the year. If you wish to receive notification of our information sessions please submit your expression of interest.
Potential volunteers are required to undertake a police check and to attend 1 full day of training.
On-going training and support is provided to all successful applicants.
The Alfred values our volunteers and we welcome your enquiry. If you can commit your time to support The Alfred and Caulfield hospitals, please SIGN UP and complete our online application form.
