Life Enrichment - Manicurist
Purpose:
- To provide personal contact and enhance resident’s self esteem.
Benefit to Resident/Presbyterian Homes:
- Resident will express pride and show feelings of increased self esteem. Resident will derive satisfaction from personal touch.
Responsibilities:
- Collect manicure supplies.
- Visit assigned, referred residents.
- Massage hands per resident’s desire.
- Remove old polish.
- Soak nails in warm water.
- Press back cuticles, file nails (DO NOT CUT)
- Apply new polish.
- Visit with resident while polish dries.
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements:
- Caring, cheerful attitude.
- Ability to converse with a variety of personalities.
- Demonstrate fine motor skills.
- Ability to provide positive customer service.
Time Commitment/Hours:
- 1 to 3 hours as volunteer’s time allows.

Reports to:
- Life Enrichment Staff
- Volunteer Director
Training and/or Support Provided:
- General volunteer orientation.
- Specific training provided by Recreational Therapist.
