Welcome to The WCHN Volunteers
At the Women’s and Children’s Health Network, consumers and communities are at the centre of everything we do. Guided by our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of families and communities through integrated care and support, and our vision to be a leading and respected health network for women, babies, children, young people and their families, our volunteers play an essential role in delivering compassionate, respectful and equitable care. They embody our values of Compassion, Respect, Accountability and Together for Excellence (CREATE) and contribute to positive care experiences for consumers, families and staff. Volunteering generally takes place between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with volunteers supported by an appointed workplace supervisor and the Volunteer Unit, and all roles are designed to complement never replace the work of paid staff.

Who can volunteer?
To volunteer with us you must be over 18 years of age, reside in Australia, and be committed to providing a high level of service to our clients, families and staff.
As a volunteer, you will need to commit to:
- approximately one 4 hour shift per week
- volunteering for at least 6 months, and
- taking part in required training.
We match your skills, experience, and abilities with available roles, and while we make every effort to consider your preferences, we ask for flexibility in placement.
The Women’s and Children’s Health Network is proud to be an inclusive, equal-opportunity workplace.
