Why volunteer?  Volunteers are given the chance to meet new people and help those in need while contributing to the community and learning new skills.

CapitalCare works to design rewarding volunteer programs that offer various roles throughout our Continuing Care residences.  Volunteers enhance the quality of life for our residents and patients!

Possible Volunteer Opportunities at Norwood:

Seasonal/Short Term Positions (30 hour commitment not needed)

COMMITMENT REQUIREMENTS:  All volunteers should be prepared to volunteer at least 30 hours in 4 months.

NEXT STEPS:

If you think that volunteering with CapitalCare is right for you and you are able to meet the commitment requirements, just follow the steps below:

Step 1: Click the [Fill in an Application] button on the right–hand side of this page and complete the application form. Ensure you check off the program you are interested in volunteering for. Only the programs that are being recruited for will be available to select.

**If the program in which you are interested in volunteering for is not available at this time, please try checking back at a later date. Program recruitment is based on need and can change at any time. **

Step 2:  The designated Coordinator of Volunteer Services for the specific site you are interested in will review all submitted applications.  If you meet our requirements and availability, you’ll be contacted for an interview.  As our Coordinator works part-time, it may take several weeks to contact you.

Step 3:  Once you have completed the interview process and you are chosen to fill a position, you will be asked to complete our volunteer onboarding process which includes:

  • Complete a Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector Screen, if required)
  • Provide proof of completed COVID19 Vaccination
  • Provide 2 references
  • Attend an onsite orientation (2 hour time commitment)
  • Complete a TB Screening form
  • Sign and complete a Confidentiality Form, as well as a Protections of Persons in Care form
  • Sign a photo and media consent form

  • Sign a volunteer agreement highlighting commitment and expectations

Step 4:   You will be assigned to your department, and given a start date.  You’ll receive additional training from the department you’ll volunteer in.  Time to start volunteering!

Thanks for your interest in improving the lives of our residents and patients.  If you’re not sure about applying yet, feel free to contact us to receive more information about volunteering before you apply.
