Thank you for expressing your interest in the Abilene Zoo Volunteer program. Volunteers help the Abilene Zoo maintain a high level of animal care and guest experiences as we spread our mission of conservation and education. We are looking for committed individuals who are prepared to serve for at least 6 months, and who are willing to give a minimum of 6-8 hours per month.
Please note: we are unable to accommodate internships and clinical placements.
The main functions of the zoo are conservation and education. We try to plant little seeds of knowledge to hopefully influence responsible stewardship in the future.
Volunteer applications are looked at on a quarterly basis. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
