Gardening / Jardinage
Volunteer assist staff to grow vegetable and heritage gardens including flowers. This entails preparing, sowing, growning, maintaining and putting to bed the museums' gardens. If gardening during museums' operating hours, volunteers must be willing to wear a period appropriate costume.
Volunteer responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- tilling the soil, planting, fertilizing, deadheading, watering, weeding, adding mulch to garden beds and preparing garden beds for the winter
- engaging visitors to the site while undertaking gardening duties
- reporting the status of the garden to staff
