Action Against Hunger is an international, non-governmental, non-religious organization that was created in Paris in 1979. Since then, the organization has developed within the framework of an interdependent international network, with headquarters in France (Paris), the US (New York), the UK (London), and Spain (Madrid).
Action Against Hunger's mission is to save lives by combating hunger, malnutrition, physical suffering and the associated distress that endanger the lives of children, women, and men in emergency situations of war, conflict, and natural disaster.
For over 25 years, Action Against Hunger has succeeded in providing efficient and cost effective relief assistance to millions of people lacking the basics - food and clean water - through volunteers like you. Volunteers are essential to keep overhead costs low and ensure that funds raised get to the people who need assistance. Because of this long-standing commitment, AAH ensures that 91 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to our programs in the field.
AAH Volunteers have long played a key part in our ongoing activities - from helping to organize and staff important U.S.-based events, to providing personal contacts and securing crucial pro bono services for AAH, to assisting with public outreach, media solicitation, and campaign work.
