Our Current Volunteer Opportunities

Camp Counselor: Overnight Camp

Program Type: Residential Overnight Camp

Duties:

  • Supervise and support a group of Campers in a camp setting
  • Participate in daily camp activities alongside Campers and fellow Camp Counselors
  • Provide encouragement, guidance, and create a positive camp experience
  • Assist with additional needs such as meal service and activity set-up/clean-up

Commitment:

  • 5-6 consecutive days (full duration of camp session)
  • Volunteers must stay on-site for the entire program
  • Volunteers arrive the night before their assigned program starts
  • View Summer Camp Session Dates

Location:

  • Camp Good Days Recreational Facility on Keuka Lake (housing & food provided)

Camp Counselor: Day Camp

Program Type: Day Camp/ Field Trip-Based Program

Duties:

  • Partner one-on-one or in a small group with Campers
  • Provide supervision, encouragement, and engagement throughout the day
  • Participate in daily field trips to local attractions

Commitment:

  • 4-day program (flexible participation)
  • Volunteers may choose to attend as many days as they are available (in Buffalo & Roc only)
  • Typical hours are 8:15/8:30 am - 4:30/5:00 pm (may vary by day and region)

Locations:

  • Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse regions

Camp Counselor: Year-Round Programs

Program Type: Ongoing Recreational & Social Activities 

Duties: 

  • Support and engage with Campers during events such as laser tag, farm visits, fishing, mini golf, and more.
  • Help maintain connections and community beyond the summer camp season
  • Provide encouragement and a welcoming presence at events

Commitment:

  • Fully Flexible
  • No Minimum requirements
  • Choose activities that fit your schedule (even one event per year is impactful)

Locations:

  • Local events in Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse areas

The mission of Camp Good Days & Special Times is to enrich the lives of children, adults and families who have been impacted by cancer or sickle cell anemia, through summer recreational camping experiences and year-round support services.
