Please sign up to show your interest in attending the 5th Grade field trip. Teachers will randomly draw names to be assigned to the field trip. An email confirmation will be sent via the Better Impact portal, so please watch your SPAM folders!

After volunteers have been assigned, the volunteer opportunity will show up on the schedule tab of your Better Impact portal.

Any volunteer opportunity that will benefit a specific classroom at Westwood.

Are you a chess master? Could you craft circles around Martha Stewart? Do you have a hobby that you would love to share with students?

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help and/or lead student clubs at Westwood Elementary! If you have a passion or skill you'd like to share with our students, this is a great opportunity to make a positive impact. Whether it’s art, science, gardening, sports, or any other interest, your leadership can inspire and engage students during our school day clubs.

Please sign up to add your name to the list of interested volunteers for the TK field trip to Center Grove Orchard! Five names will be drawn at random from those on the sign up list. An email will be sent from the volunteer portal to those who were assigned to attend the field trip (please check spam folders).

When: May 13, 2026 9:00am-11:00pm

Where: Center Grove Orchard, 32835 610th Avenue, Cambridge, IA 50046 

Volunteer cost: $9.95 (payable at Center Grove that day)

Volunteers must arrive by 9am in order to purchase their admission ticket and be ready to meet the students when they get off the bus. Each volunteer will lead a small group of 3-5 students as the class explores the Center Grove Spring Experience, please be prepared for a lot of walking and varied weather conditions. Volunteers will assist the students until they load the bus around 11am.

Please join students as they complete acts of service to better the community.

Volunteers will assist students and organizers from Meals from the Heartland or Gardening for Good on April 15th. The times and details are still being finalized!

TK-2nd grades will help Gardening for Good, planting seeds to benefit community gardens in the community. This activity will occur in the morning.

3rd-5th grades will help Meals from the Heartland, packaging shelf stable meals to be shared with communities around the world with food insecurity. This activity will occur during most of the school day.
