Come along to one of the guided ClimateWatch Trail walks happening across the Sunshine Coast this school holidays.

Join us for a fun and educational experience exploring the beautiful reserve as part of the ClimateWatch Trail Guided Walk at the Doonan Creek Environmental Reserve!

 

A council staff will guide you through the reserve, pointing out various plant and animal species as we record data of the seasonal changes of these species. We will be meeting at the Doonan Creek Environmental Reserve adjacent Dahlia Road for parking.  https://maps.app.goo.gl/bJJHVX4TvW2ZLhKQ8

The trail at Doonan Creek Environmental Reserve is part of the global programL ClimateWatch. ClimateWatch is a citizen science project that aims to record how changes in temperature and rainfall are affecting the seasonal behaviour of Australia's plants and animals. Your observations will help Sunshine Coast Council & national bodies (EarthWatch Australia & CSIRO) to understand how our region is changing as a result of climate change and inform strategies to address these impacts.  

We recommend downloading the free app prior to arrival. Please register for an account and remember your login details. (See download instructions below.) If you would like assistance to download the app, please arrive at 8.45am.

This trail is about 3 kilometers long and can take more than an hour to walk the loop – depending on how many species you encounter. The trail is an easy route (Grade 3) partly sealed.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Please bring your water bottle.
