Bushcare Volunteer - Denmark Hill Conservation Reserve

Working bees: The first Sunday of the month, 8am - 10am 
Location: Denmark Hill Conservation Reserve. Meet at the BBQ & playground area at the end of Quarry Street.

Join the Denmark Hill Bushcare Group to help care for one of Ipswich’s most iconic conservation reserves. Volunteers work together to remove weeds, restore native habitat, and build community connections in this beautiful bushland setting.

The Denmark Hill group is currently looking for volunteers and growing the community caring for the local reserve. The group held their first working bee early February, 2023. A social event, involving weeding and planting. The group has continued to plant and maintain the site, increasing the zone in which they work, progress has been consistent!

Pre-Requisites: For the initial volunteer shift you’ll be asked to sign an Unregistered Volunteer form before starting work.  These are available on the day. Those wanting to join as a regular member will need to sign up as a regular volunteer, to do this you'll need to sign up on the Council Volunteer portal follow MyImpactPage - Application Form - Infrastructure and Environment (betterimpact.com) and complete all online induction training and sign the Volunteer Agreement form to be covered by insurance.

Please wear a hat, gloves, long pants and closed in shoes. Remember to bring drinking water and your own snacks. Sunscreen and insect repellant is available. 

Registered volunteers are provided with approved gloves and hats.
