Cafe Team Member (Night Cafe)
7 days a week 11.00pm – 7.00am
The Night Café will build upon the existing Daytime Lighthouse Café operation to provide a welcoming, safe and inclusive place for men and women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the City of Melbourne. Based at 69 Bourke Street Melbourne, the space will be open from 11pm-7am, 7 nights a week and will be staffed by 2 trained Salvation Army staff and supported by a team of 3-5 volunteers each night.
The team of staff and volunteers will provide tea, coffee and toasted sandwiches and support to people from all walks of life, especially those living on the margins of society. The Night Cafe’s primary purpose is about building relationships with people and developing a strong sense of belonging and acceptance for all and will ensure that during the winter months there is a safe place for people to go late at night.
