PRESENTATIONS SUPPORT This Volunteer Round of Presentations support position suits a person with a passion for Australian wildlife and exotic wildlife, and a keen interest in animal training, who enjoys cleaning and working outdoors as part of a team. It takes great commitment to assist with the daily care of our wildlife as well as dedication, and attention to detail to ensure all aspects of the animal’s welfare are provided for. The animals in the presentations department star in our daily shows that educate our guests about wildlife and conservation. This position is a physical role and involves daily cleaning of the presentation enclosures, food preparation and providing environmental enrichment. Involvement in customer service and interacting with our guests is also part of this role during wildlife encounters and photo opportunities. This is a long-term role with a minimum 6-month weekly commitment due to the training required for this unique role. We encourage volunteers to continue in the program for longer if able. Level of Fitness: A high level of physical fitness is required for this role. Wildlife Volunteers play an important role assisting our Specialist Wildlife keepers in the daily care of our precious wildlife at The Sanctuary, as well as helping to make our guests feel welcome. Wildlife volunteers work alongside our wildlife keepers on their daily rounds assisting with the cleaning and feeding of the animals who call the Sanctuary home. The range of animals in the Sanctuary is diverse and includes a huge variety of Australian native fauna and some guest exotic species. In the presentation support you will encounter a variety of Australian and exotic birds as well as some mammals.
