Pride in Art Society

Calling all Volunteers!

Queer Arts Festival 2023 ~ Queers in Space ~ is actively seeking volunteers from June 17 - 28.

Volunteering with us will be fun, rewarding, and an exciting way to meet new people in Vancouver’s art scene. All volunteers will also get a free QAF t-shirt, access to festival events, a free QAF membership, and will have the chance to win the coveted “Queer as Fuck” award at our volunteer appreciation party!

As a registered charity organization, we rely on the generous time donated by our fabulous volunteers. As a Queer Arts Festival SUM gallery volunteer, you’ll not only be helping a small, non-profit arts organization succeed, but you’ll also be surrounded by community and get the inside scoop on how we make these events happen.

If you are interested, please fill out the application form and sign up for festival shifts. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at volunteer@queerartsfestival.com

Mission Statement

The Pride in Art Society (PiA) produces, presents and exhibits with a curatorial vision favouring challenging, thought-provoking contemporary art that pushes boundaries and initiates dialogue, including through the Queer Arts Festival (QAF), an annual artist-run, transdisciplinary festival, and SUM Gallery, one of the only permanent spaces dedicated to the presentation of queer art worldwide. PiA brings diverse communities together to support artistic risk-taking, incite creative collaboration and experimentation and celebrate the rich heritage of queer artists and art. We harness the visceral power of the art to inspire recognition, respect and visibility of people who transgress gender and sexual norms.
