Patient Support
Minimum requirements to consider before you submit an application:
- Age 18 years and up
- Available weekdays during centre hours (Mon. – Fri., 8:00am-4:30pm) for a 3-4 hour shift once per week
- Make a six month commitment to volunteer
- All past patients wishing to volunteer must be one year post active treatment
- Anyone who has lost an immediate family member or was the principle caregiver to a cancer patient lost to the disease must wait one year before an application will be considered
- Skills required vary depending on volunteer role sought
Volunteer roles that focus on supporting patients and family members through conversation, active listening and empathy. Roles include:
- Greeter
- Chemo Room
