Animal Team Volunteer (Please note there is no direct contact with the animals - see description)
As one of our most popular departments, places as a volunteer in our Animal Department are limited. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE ANIMALS FOR VOLUNTEERS.
You'll need to be generally fit and healthy in order to volunteer in this department due to the kinds of tasks you'll be asked to get involved in. Working closely with our Animal Keepers, and in all kinds of weather, you will be asked to undertake such tasks as:

Assisting with the preparation of food for animals, including weighing and measuring ingredients

Assisting with cleaning enclosures, maintaining habitats, and helping with routine maintenance tasks

Assisting with enclosure presentation, i.e cleaning windows, weeding, sweeping etc

Assisting with tasks such as landscaping, gardening, or general maintenance
If you feel that this is the volunteering role for you, we'd love to receive your application however, as places are limited, we cannot guarantee acceptance. Alternatively, we might be able to offer you a place as a General Volunteer where you're likely to help out in the animal department from time to time as well as across all our other fantastic departments.
