Outdoor Education / Camp - Gizmo Girls Mentor
Gizmo Girls is an engineering mentor program for girls in grades 6, 7 and 8 which is being supported by UVM's Dept. of Math & Engineering. Co-mentors are needed to work with UVM students in mentoring groups of 2-6 girls. Professional engineers and community members are needed to support the program. Engineering background is NOT necessary. Volunteers help with engineering activities, tours of engineering sites, UVM events, keep in touch between meetings via email and more. Schedules are determined by the team. Mentors receive training, bus passes, and support for snacks and materials for the group. Meetings generally take place evenings or late afternoons.
