Employment/GED Counseling

Objective: Prepare clients for the GED exam to ensure success. Counsel clients on employment opportunities. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Instruct students on material needed in order to earn their GED.
  • Teach basic skills encompassing math, science, English, and literature.
  • Help students prepare and study for GED exam.
  • Assess students' readiness to take exam.
  • Engage students in materials
  • Stay abreast of latest techniques and GED requirements
  • Assess clients' skills and abilities for employment opportunities
  • Maintain relationships with employers for placement
  • Follow up with employment placement and GED testing

Qualifications: 

  • Adult learning knowledge and/or experience
  • Subject matter knowledge
  • Previous teaching/training experience preferred
  • Knowledge of GED programs and material
  • Dependability 
  • Interpersonal communications and counseling skills
