Employment/GED Counseling
Objective: Prepare clients for the GED exam to ensure success. Counsel clients on employment opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Instruct students on material needed in order to earn their GED.
- Teach basic skills encompassing math, science, English, and literature.
- Help students prepare and study for GED exam.
- Assess students' readiness to take exam.
- Engage students in materials
- Stay abreast of latest techniques and GED requirements
- Assess clients' skills and abilities for employment opportunities
- Maintain relationships with employers for placement
- Follow up with employment placement and GED testing
Qualifications:
- Adult learning knowledge and/or experience
- Subject matter knowledge
- Previous teaching/training experience preferred
- Knowledge of GED programs and material
- Dependability
- Interpersonal communications and counseling skills
