As a Community Event Volunteer, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming and engaging experience for attendees while supporting a great cause. Whether you’re helping with setup, greeting guests, assisting with donation stations, or running fun activities, your time and energy will make a real difference.

Our Family Meal Program offers the chance for community groups to cook a meal for families in the House. Family Meal Support volunteers help our Food Services Coordinator organize, prepare, and execute the meals with the groups to ensure a positive experience for both the families and community supporters.  

Our Family Room is located inside of the Surrey Memorial Hospital and consists of four sleeping rooms and a large common area for drop ins. Our Family Room Support volunteers help with a variety of tasks including making up beds, laundry, baking, cooking, light cleaning, playing with siblings, and organizing shared spaces. 

Our Food Services Support volunteers are responsible for making sure the shared fridges, freezers and pantries are well stocked with food for our families to enjoy. They also help with receiving food deliveries, organizing our main pantry, separating food into individual portions, putting our donations, etc. all under the care of our Food Services Coordinator.
