Fringe Festival Front of House Team

FRONT OF HOUSE TEAM

The Front of House Team welcomes every patron to their show! They work at our 10 lottery venues (venues managed by Fringe Theatre) and are responsible for greeting patrons, managing lineups, and scanning tickets at the door. This position can be fast-paced, as it is important that patrons are all inside the theatre quickly so the show can start on time, but provides an opportunity to meet many passionate theatre-goers.

Duties:

  • Greet patrons and manage lineups outside the venues
  • Check and scan tickets at the door
  • Answer patron questions and give directions
  • Usher at the Westbury Theatre (assist patrons entering and exiting the theatre and provide directions in the case of an emergency)

Requirements:

  • Must be 14+ years of age (18+ years of age for usher shifts)
  • Must attend an in-person, pre-festival training session (new and returning volunteers)
  • Comfortable learning how to use a smartphone to scan tickets
  • Comfortable working with patrons in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand outside for 30 minutes or, if applicable, sit outside for 30 minutes in your own personal wheelchair, walker or scooter
  • Ability to quickly move from one venue to another across the Festival site (approximately 8 blocks in 15 minutes)
  • Basic understanding and ability to communicate in spoken and written English

Hours for this team generally run from 11:00am to 12:00am.
