12. Bradshaw Animal Assistant Team (BAAT) Veterinary Outreach Program

Be part of making a difference in the lives of low-income and unsheltered Sacramento County pet owners and their pets! Our BAAT program provides free treatment of minor medical issues, vaccinations, deworming, flea control, microchipping, engraved ID tags, collars, and pet food via monthly clinics held in targeted communities. The program is made possible by volunteer veterinary professionals and students who provide the medical services, and lay volunteers who assist with registration, ID tags, collars and clerical support. This effort is fast-paced and high volume, serving 250-400 pets within each three-hour clinic. The clinics run from September-June, and are on hiatus for the summer months of July and August due to extreme heat.
