15. Public Dog Park Maintenance Crew

The Bradshaw Shelter is proud to have one of the most popular dog parks in Sacramento, enjoyed year-round by dog owners from throughout the area who deeply appreciate that it's well-kept by shelter volunteers. We won’t lie... there is dog poop involved, but really, it’s not horrible. The task includes:

Restocking poop-bag distribution kiosks, emptying garbage cans/fecal waste receptacles and discarding in the shelter dumpster, placing new garbage bags, walking the park looking for/picking up any poop that has been missed by owners. These same volunteers also maintain the kiosks and fecal waste cans around the shelter used by dog walker volunteers.

Volunteering days/times can be flexible, but commitment to one 90-minute shift a week is required. Training consists of two shifts with an existing dog park volunteer.
