Sadly, some of our animals have never known the basic comfort of a blanket or bed to lay on. Ensuring that clean bedding and towels are available for use throughout the shelter is primarily the responsibility of our volunteers. Washing of bowls, toys and other items is also part of the role. Using our commercial washers and dryers, up to 50 loads of laundry are washed, dried, folded and neatly put away each day by volunteers! Dishes and toys are washed by hand. Training consists of 1-2 shifts with an existing laundry volunteer. Basic shift commitment is 2.5 hours, however many find this role very fulfilling and do 3+ hours.
